Catherine Thomas, 91, of Cross Lanes, gained her wings to Heaven on February 13, 2022, after a long bout with dementia.

She was born on August 18, 1930 in Charleston, to the late Howard and Reba Sprouse.

She was a loving mother, and a grandma to all. She always had a smile on her face. Catherine loved to sew, being around her grandkids and going to the KVSS center. She worked as a cook at AVI in Union Carbide for many years.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James Shirley Thomas; children, Mary, Becky, Frank, Benny, John Edward; and grandkids, Chrissy, Angie, and Seth.

Catherine is survived by her children, Treasa, Kathy, Virginia, Tina, Shirley, Kim, Danny Ray, Joey, Dennis; and her sister, Betty. She had a small army of grandkids, great-grandkids, great-great-grandkids; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, who will all miss her dearly.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, February 21, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Rev. Jeff Comer officiating. Burial will follow in Marmet Cemetery, Marmet.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
