Obituary

Catherine "Katie" Tincher, 79, of Charleston, passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her family, Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Broadmore Assisted Living, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

She was born in Charleston to John and Lela Hall and was a graduate of Charleston High School. She worked as a personal shopper at the Diamond Department Store for 6-7 years and retired from the State of WV where she was a Centrex operator for 15 years. Katie was an avid flea marketer which she enjoyed with her husband, Cy. She loved buying and selling costume jewelry. She was a member of Starcher Baptist Church for 50 years. Most of all, Katie was a devoted wife and mother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Hall of Arizona and Leonard Hall of North Carolina.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Walter "Cy" Tincher; son, Dave Tincher and his wife, Debbie of Winfield; daughters, Connie Hutchinson and her husband, Bob of Scott Depot and Patti Campbell and her husband, Roger of Charleston. Katie loved her grandchildren, Krista Antis, Maggie Tincher, Mike Hutchinson, Todd Hutchinson and John Ziegler. She is also survived by her sister, Jenny Scarlas of Rainelle.

Katie was loved by many and will be sadly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 4, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Thomas A. Moore, Jr. and the Rev. Doyle D. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 3, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

The family would like to acknowledge and give special thanks to the Crisis Care Unit and Nursing Staff of Kanawha Hospice Care and Broadmore Assisted Living for providing such loving care.
Also, special thanks to the staff in the Memory Care unit at Broadmore and also to Dr. Bruce Foster.
