Cecil "Mac" McCutchen Jr., 89, of Nitro, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 16, 2021.
He was born on February 5, 1931, in South Charleston, to the late Cecil and Goldie McCutchen.
Mac retired from the U.S. Post Office after 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He will be sadly missed by his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, his step-son, Jesse Rose; brother, David McCutchen; and sisters, Phyllis Meester, Violet Fitzwater, Ruth Breenan, and baby Virginia.
Mac is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Margaret McCutchen; children, Michael McCutchen of Davis Creek, Pam Dunlap (Scott) of Cross Lanes, Kathy Gillispie of Dunbar, Diane Laughlin of Campbells Creek; step-children, Kim Wills (Steve) of Milton, Paul Rose (Laura) of Elkview; brothers, Clarence McCutchen of Columbus, OH, Eugene McCutchen (Betty) of Florida; sisters, Lucille Sellers of Florida, Pearl Gillenwater of Georgia, Eva Mae Harless (Garland) of Hurricane; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Victor Keatley officiating. Burial will follow in French Cemetery, South Charleston.
Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
All social distancing and COVID-19 protocol will be followed at all times.
