Charles Norman Howard "Tuffy", 62, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 21, 2023.

He was born on August 3, 1961 in White Sulphur Springs, to the late Summers James Sr.,and Frances Gladys Howard.

Tuffy was a loving brother, father, grandfather and uncle. He was a great friend to all who knew him and will be greatly missed by all.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Summers James Howard Jr., and his grandkids, Jakyra Howard and Kaylani Howard.

Tuffy is survived by his children, Charles Panell of Charleston, Eric Howard (Brittany) of North Carolina, Johnathan Smith of Charleston, Charles Miller of Charleston; brothers, Michael Howard of Winston-Salem, NC; sisters, Thelma Smith of Charleston, Susan Howard of Knoxville, TN, Paula Howard of Charleston; 20 grandkids; 5 great grandkids; 4 nieces; 3 nephews; 15 great nieces; 10 great nephews; good friends, Eric Parker, Delores Parker and Vonnetta Potts; and many family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Reverend Matthew Watts officiating.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
