Obituary

Charles Keith Hunt, 85, of Cross Lanes, died Saturday, March 19, 2016 at home.

He was born June 25, 1930 in Cottageville, Jackson County to the late Anthony Crawford and Nora Francis Batteral Hunt.

He retired, as a Millwright, from Union Carbide Corporation, Institute Plant.

Keith was a military veteran for the United States Army where he served in Germany and received an Honorable Discharge. After the Korean War began he was called back into the reserved corps, then shipped to Korea, 1st Battalion 23 Infantry Regiment, 2nd Division. He was in the Twin Tunnels and Chipyong-ni battles. He always remembered February 14, 1951; four days and four nights underfire from the enemy, living conditions 50 degrees below zero. He was fortunate to return to Korea for their 60 year anniversary and was amazed at the rebuilding of the country.

During his younger life he attended Logger Head Church, Cow Run, Cottageville, Jackson County. The church was a large metal building where people worshipped. Keith was a kind-hearted person and will be truly missed. During his long illnesses he gave his life to Christ and is now in peace.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Dwight Hunt and brother-in-law, Tom Good.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jo Ann Hunt; sisters, Eileen Comstock and Pat Jones (Tom); sisters-in-law, Linda Hunt (Dwight), Janet Jones (Ray), and Joyce Pitchford (Carl); nephews, Bill Comstock (Debbie Zegeer-Comstock), Michael Hunt (Susan), Tom Good (Ruth), Randy Jones, Jason Good and Bryan Pitchford (Lisa); nieces, Pam Thompson (Eddie), Lisa Hunt, Erin Good Eichhorn (Ike) and Lisa Warner (Gary).

The family would like to thank HospiceCare, Kim Cyrus (RN), Connie Boggs (RN), Holly Clark, and Tony Dunbar (social workers), Dr. Mark Richards, Dr. Basu, Dr Cohen, Dr. Rahman and Dr. Deem for their compassion to Keith during his long illnesses. Their care is greatly appreciated by Jo Ann.
