Obituary

Charles Homer Keeling, 79, of Elkview, entered his heavenly home, August 17, 2017 at his home surrounded by his wife, Sally, and his children.

Charlie contributed to society for over 45 years as an automobile mechanic and as a friend and a brother to others who treasured his skilled hands and affable personality. His love of God and family will forever be an example as a loving son, brother, father and grandfather. He was a 40 year member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

Charlie was born in Pinch, the fourth of five children to Homer W. and Oklen V. Keeling on November 19, 1937. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandson, Bobby Keeling and great-granddaughter Kaitlyn Lipscomb.

Left to cherish and honor his memory is his loving wife of 61 years, Sally Ann (Johnstone); siblings, James of Winfield, Robert and Phyllis of Talmadge, Ohio, Shirley Ann of Columbus, Ohio and Bill and Delores of Teays Valley; children, Charles Homer and Linda of Harpers Ferry, Edward Michael and Jane of Elkview, Teresa Ann and Rod Lipscomb of Elkview, Kenneth Grant and Karen of Nicholasville, KY and Scott Alan and Gail of Elkview. As a loving father, he greatly enjoyed and had a special pride for his 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

A family graveside service will be held at 2 p.m, on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Elk Hills Memorial Park with Pastor Lee Swor officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the rebuilding of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church 58 Mount Pleasant Dr, Elkview, WV 25071 or HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd., W., Charleston, WV 25387
