Charles "Charlie" Edward Shedd, 72, of Hurricane passed away suddenly on April 10, 2018.

Charlie was a professed Christian. He was a member of the Army National Guard Special Forces Unit. He was a proud member of the NRA and retired from the WV DHHR. He was a wonderful grandfather, father, father-in-law, brother, and a friend to everyone that knew him. Charlie loved first and foremost, his family and spending quality time with them. He loved car shows, traveling, fishing and camping.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Luda Prather Shedd and Etna Shedd of Dunbar; brother, Etna S. Shedd and twin sisters, Ruth Ruby and Lilian Marie Shedd.

Charlie is survived by his son, Charles Stephen Shedd (Heather) of Mineral Wells; brothers, James Shedd (Wilda) of Hurricane, Neil Shedd (Sandy) of Humble, TX, Dale Shedd (Edith) of Dunbar, William "Bill" Shedd of Vienna; sister, Janice Gibson of Hurricane; along with many nieces and nephews. Charlie was the proud grandfather of three grandchildren who loved him very much, Stephanie Dawn, Olivia Brooke, and Tyler Shedd, all of Mineral Wells.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 15 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Sherwood Holbert officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
