Charles Donald "Bunk" Tilman, 80, of Dunbar, passed away March 10, 2006 at Thomas Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born in Charlottesville, Va. and was a 58 year resident of Dunbar. Bunk was a longtime car salesman in the Kanawha Valley, primarily at C&O Motors in St. Albans and at Tilman and Courts in Hurricane where he was part owner. He was a veteran of WW II, having served in the Navy Seabees. Bunk was a member of Humphreys Memorial United Methodist Church in Dunbar and was an honorary member of the Sleepy Hollow Golf Club.
Mr. Tilman is survived by his wife of 55 years, Norma Tilman and by nieces, Debbie Lee Duffield of Cross Lanes and Susan Lee of Alabama, Janet Miller of Mechanicsville, VA; great nephews, Mark Lee of North Carolina and Matthew Lee of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, Ann Tilman of Mechanicsville, Va.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Sunday, March 12, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Dr. Okey B. Harless officiating. Graveside services will be 2:45 p.m. Monday, March 13, at the Monticello Memory Gardens, Charlottesville, Va.
