Pastor Charles Bruce Young, Sr., 95, of Dunbar, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 in Lancaster, Ohio.

He was born on March 31, 1920 in Charleston to Benjamin Strother Young and Rena Belle Tolliver.

Bruce served his Lord and Savior as pastor or assistant pastor at many churches in the Charleston area including Kanawha Two-Mile Gospel Tabernacle, Roxalana Gospel Tabernacle, Sugar Creek Baptist Church, Oak Ridge Bible Church and Twin City Bible Church. He served most recently as Assistant Pastor at Teays Valley Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 73 years, Elaine "Toots" Young , and daughters, Tammy Carnes and Judy Young.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Thelma Young of Groveport, OH, his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Alanna Young of Cumming, GA; his sister, Annabelle Fraker of Beckley; two nieces; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

The service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 23 at Teays Valley Baptist Church, 3926 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, with Dr. John Smith, Pastor John Duffy, and Chaplain Homer Fink officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Gardens of Memories.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 22 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
