Charley M. Nelson's Obituary
Charley "Chuck" M. Nelson III of South Charleston went home to be with the Lord on December 10, 2014 after a long battle with diabetes.
Charley, known as "Chuck" to many, was retired from the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department as Assistant Chief and from the City of South Charleston.
He loved playing the guitar, spending time with friends and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley M. Nelson, Jr. and Sondra Fowler Nelson.
Charley is survived by his daughter, Hayley Nelson; companion, Melissa Johnson; brother, Danny Nelson and his wife, Lola; sisters, Brenda Hill, Bobbi Nelson and Tammy Taaffe; brother, Timothy Nelson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16 at the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department, 6313 MacCorkle Ave SW, St. Albans.
Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service at Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department, St. Albans.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
