Cheryl McDonnell Clendenin, 60, of Dunbar, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 4, 2020.

She was born on May 19, 1959, in Welch, to the late Maynard and Joyce McDonnell.

Cheryl was a 1978 graduate of South Charleston High School. She worked at SportMart Superstore for 36 years in the office, and ended her career there as an office manager and bookkeeper. She worked at Persinger and Associates for five years as a bookkeeper after SportMart closed.

She enjoyed spending time with those she loved, watching tv, listening to country music, attending the occasional concert, and taking road trips with her daughter. Her husband and daughter were her life.

Cheryl is survived by her husband of 37 years, Daniel Clendenin; daughter, Jessica Bennett and husband Derrick of Cross Lanes; siblings, Gary McDonnell and wife Diane of Columbus, OH, Carolyn Young and husband Lee Roy of Nitro, Larry McDonnell of Nitro; many nieces and nephews; and two grand dogs, Waylon and Winston.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 9, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Rev. Ronald Biram officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
