Clara Naomi Davis, 86, of Charleston, went home to be with Jesus, whom she loved, on Wednesday, September 23, 2015.
She was born in Charleston on February 24, 1929 to the late Wilber and Earnie Carpenter.
Clara was a retired school teacher from Kanawha County Schools.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Davis; son, James Temple Davis; daughter, Joyce Lynn Boggess; brothers, Robert, Tommy, Darrell, Dallas, and Danny Carpenter; and sister, Eula Thaxton.
Clara is survived by her son, William Davis and his wife, Nancy, of Scott Depot; daughters, Catherine Frye of Charleston, Tina Davis of Cross Lanes, Debra K. Davis of Charleston and Janet Vance and her husband, Roger, of Charleston; brothers, Thaddeus Carpenter and his wife, Mary, of Sissonville, and Basil Carpenter of Sissonville; sister, Katheryn Lowe and her husband, Paul, of Sissonville; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all of the people at Valley Center Nursing Home that took such good care of our mother.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 28, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Dan McClung officiating. There will be a private burial at the Carpenter Family Cemetery.
Family and friends may call two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
