Clara "Judy" Stover Pauley, 79, of Dunbar, went to Heaven on Sunday afternoon, January 22, 2023 at CAMC Memorial Hospital.

She was a graduate of Dunbar High School and Parkersburg Community College to become a passionate nurse. She spent her life devoted to others. During her time at CAMC Women's and Children's she worked in labor and delivery as well as the mother baby unit. She always cared for those around her and was loved by all.

Clara was a beautiful soul who valued her family and her faith. She became "Granny" to many children, not only to her biological grandchildren. All were welcome with her. She was a truly special woman who touched the lives of many. She enjoyed time with family and friends, watching criminal justice shows like Blue Bloods and Law and Order, and playing with her little dog, Sonic.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Emmitt Pauley; parents, Harry and Iva Stover; brother, Harry Wayne Stover; sisters and their husbands, Peggy and Johnny Hitt and Jo Ellen and Jack Withrow; and a cousin who was like her brother, Teddy Stover.

Clara is survived by her son, Danny Erin Pauley of Dunbar; daughter, Kerry Pauley of St. Albans; granddaughter, Alexis Friel (Randy) of St. Albans; and three great-grandchildren, Amelia, Nathaniel and Arwen Friel of St. Albans; and sister-in-laws, Diana Casto and Sherry Bailey of Jackson County.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Reverend Jack Withrow officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson County Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
