Obituary

Clara Scarberry Welker, 67, of South Charleston, passed away Friday, April 19, 2012, after a long illness.

She was very family oriented and always put others before herself. She was a loving and caring person, and will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Clara was former 15 year employee of South Charleston Stamping Plant.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Glenna Scarberry; husband, Charles Welker; daughter, Rachel Welker; sisters, Bertha Hayes, Georgia Barger; brothers, Elmer Scarberry, Charles Scarberry Jr., and Raymond Scarberry Sr.

Clara was a devoted and beloved granny to Jessica Arnold, Joshua Arnold, Jeremy Arnold, and Jacob Arnold. She is also survived by her sisters, Stella Canterbury, Alice Scarberry, Doris Williams, and Lora Meeks; brothers, James Scarberry Sr., Franklin Scarberry, Sr., Leon Scarberry, and Clifford Scarberry; stepsons, Mike Welker and Chris Welker.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Reverend Darnell officiating. Burial will follow at Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
