Clarence Lee "Strick" Stricklen, born July 16. 1927, son of the late Elbert and Cleo of Charleston, died March 20, 2011.
He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Margaret Wolfe (1997).
Mr. Stricklen was a member of Kanawha Valley Masonic Lodge #36 in Buffalo, the Scottish Rite Temple and Beni Kedem Shrine. He was a World War II Veteran of the US Navy.
He was former owner/operator of Stricklen's Union 76 in Dunbar. Also formerly employed by Union Carbide and Pennzoil.
He is survived by his daughters Debbie and her husband Jim Booth of Dunbar, and Terri Stricklen of Winfield. Grandchildren Chris Booth and his wife Melissa of Miami, FL, J-me Booth of Dunbar, Craig Booth of Cross Lanes. Great Granddaughters Kelsey & Kaley Booth and Papa's girl JaLen "Punkie" Booth who brightened his life the last 3 years.
Brothers Bob and his wife Helen of Nitro, Roy and his wife Diane of Florida, Rochie and his wife Mary Ellen of Kentucky. Sisters Marie and her husband Richard Wills of Madison, Carolyn and her husband John Eret of Florida, Janice and her husband Jeff Wilkinson of Georgia, Jeannie and her husband Gary Johnson of Colorado. Sister-in-law Dorothy Wolfe of Michigan. He is also servived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of special neighbors and friends.
The family expresses their appreciation and gratitude to the staff of CAMC Teays Valley who provided excellent care and comfort to Dad.
Funeral service will be held Friday, March 25 at 11 a.m. at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastors John Hayes and Rochie Stricklen officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 24 at Keller Funeral Home.
