Claude W. Wise, 83, of South Charleston, passed away Friday, March 30, 2007 at The Haven in Cedar Grove.
He was born in South Charleston, was a graduate of South Charleston High School and served his country in the US Army in WW II. He was the owner and broker of Wise Realty Company in South Charleston. Mr. Wise was past president of the American Baptist Convention and American Baptist Men. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Charleston.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, T. Clinton and Herman Wise.
Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Virginia "Peg" Wise; brothers,
Raymond Wise of South Charleston and Bob Wise, and his wife, Beulah of Kenova; sister-in-law, Jane C. Wise of St. Albans. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 2, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Ronald Stoner and the Rev. Monty Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., April 1, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to Dr. James Frame and the staff at the David Lee Cancer Center for their wonderful care during Claude's long battle with multiple myeloma.
