Claudestine Mae Miller, 92, of Charleston, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2009.

Born June 12, 1916 in Charleston, she was the daughter of the late Claude Morris and Lucie Morris-Bailey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Miller and daughter, Nancy Miller.

Claudie was an active member of Starcher Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She was a Deaconess, spent many hours working with children in the church nursery and on various projects, and made certain the décor in the church vestibule presented a warm welcome to those arriving. She will be remembered as a faithful friend and family member who was always there to offer help and support to those in need.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Margaret Miller of Sissonville; grandchildren, Patrick Miller and his wife, Veronica of Arlington, VA, Michelle Barbour and her husband, Michael of Ona; great grandchildren, Andrew Miller and Sydney Barbour.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Doyle D. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
