Clayton L. Barnett, 64, of Dunbar, got his angel wings on Saturday, March 3, 2018, and flew home after a long illness.

He was born on May, 27, 1953, in Charleston, to the late Guy and Genevieve Barnett.

Clayton was a graduate of Dunbar High School. He was retired from the City of Dunbar. He was an avid hunter and loved to work in the garden. He enjoyed spending time at his farm in Jackson County when his health permitted it.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings; Sharon Gaynor, Marlin G. "Bud" Barnett and Caroline Landis.

Clayton is survived by his sister, Patricia Spradling and husband Larry of Dunbar; brother-in-law, Coy Gaynor of Dunbar; sister-in-law, Sue Barnett of Dunbar; friend, Cheryl Garnes of Dunbar; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of The Cleveland Clinic and University of Cincinnati Medical Center for all their loving care and support.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Moss Chapel Cemetery, Jim Ridge Road, Given, with the Rev. Ronnie Nida officiating.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis. TN 38105.
