Obituary

Clayton Delmar Jones, 94, of South Charleston went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 28 after a short illness.

He was born July 27, 1923 to his late parents Benjamin F. Jones and Ethel Scarberry Jones. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II and worked 40 years for the CSX (C&O) Railroads as a promoted conductor. Clayton enjoyed dancing the two step and clogging with his third wife Nora Bailey Jones.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Mae Jones; second wife, Jean Carroll Jones; brother, William Jones; daughter, Karen Lynn Pauley; and son, Michael Dewayne Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Nora; son, Aaron W. Jones (Frances); son-in-law, Joel Pauley; sisters, Fran Shumaker (Ron), and Effie Burnette (Bob); sister-in-law, Janet Jones; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 31 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will be in the White Family Cemetery in Long Bottom, OH.

There will be a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 30 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
