Cledith Jean Norvell, 85, of Cross Lanes, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in Hubbard Hospice House, after a long illness.

Jean was born October 13, 1926 in Bomont, WV, to the late Fred and Mary Elizabeth Mullins. She was raised in Nitro.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Norvell; son, Darrell Wayne Norvell; brothers, Leland Mullins, Rex Mullins, Darrell Mullins; sisters, Aulda Mullins, Janice Mullins; granddaughter, Maggie Jean Norvell.

She had previously worked as a bookkeeper for Nitro Fas-Chek. She and her husband were co-owners of Nitro Supermarket, Modern Carpet, and Lon Jean Apartments.

Mrs. Norvell is survived by her sons, Larry Norvell, and his wife, Linda, Rob Norvell, and his wife, Arretta, Perry Norvell; daughter, Sherry McSparin, and her husband, Jim; Carolyn Norvell; grandchildren, Brian, Benji, Matt, Michelle, Kelly, Stacey, Barbie, Mary, Molly; great grandchildren, Brandon, Jacob, Reagan, Daniel, Calyn, Tucker, Mattax, Gabriel.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the caregivers at Braley Care Home and Hubbard Hospice House for their excellent care and concern for their loved one.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 7, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Dr. Okey Harless officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 6, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
