Deacon Clyde V. Tucker, 80, of South Charleston, formerly of Armstrong Creek, went home to be with Jesus on August 19, 2013 in Thomas Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He was born in Marting, Fayette County, on March 24, 1933, son of the late Arthur Tucker and Marthenia Belser Tucker.
He was a deacon at Faith Tabernacle in Rand and was co-founder and deacon of Faith Ministries in South Charleston, along with wife, Anna and son, Clyde, Jr. Many people were helped through their shelter ministry where they took food and other things that would help hurting people. They were also active in the nursing home ministry.
Clyde never met a stranger. He was a kind, compassionate man of God, always ready to lend a helping hand. Clyde always thought of Anna's family as his own and she thought of his family as her own. He retired from Marsico Brothers as a cement truck driver.
He was preceded in death by all of his brothers and sisters, two daughters, Sharon Sue and Debbie Ann and by his first wife, Opal Jean.
Surviving are his loving wife, Pastor Anna Schultz Tucker and son, Clyde, Jr, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Susie Milam and Karen Atkins, his caregivers, for their care and help during Clyde's illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Anna Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 22, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
