Obituary

Connie Marie (Boggess) Stover, 64, of Hurricane, passed away at Thomas Memorial Hospital after a long illness on December 28, 2015 with her loving husband and family at her bedside.

She was born at Thomas Memorial Hospital to Louise A. Boggess and Clermit S. "Kermit" Boggess of Dunbar on February 10, 1951.

Connie was a lifelong Christian and attended Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church in Hurricane.

Connie was an accomplished artist who enjoyed painting landscapes and family pets. She was a member of Allied Artists of West Virginia with juried paintings displayed at multiple locations in Charleston and Lewisburg. An avid animal lover, Connie had dogs, cats, goats and as many as six horses when she and Hermitt lived in Liberty and owned and managed Windy Acres Kennel. Connie also ran a pet grooming business in Dunbar. She retired from Smith Company Motor Cars where she worked as a booking clerk.

Connie is survived by her husband of 30 years, Hermitt Stover of Hurricane; daughters, Tracy (Mike) Hoffman of South Charleston, Kristy (David) Chappelle of Ashland, KY, Jennifer (Duane) Salyers of Ashland, KY, Barb (Mike) Webb of Cincinnati, OH; son, Chad (Diane) Stover of Creston, OH; as well as seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Other surviving family include sister, Lana Barger of Leesburg, VA; brothers, Wayne (Phyllis) Boggess and James (Pam) Boggess of Teays Valley; and her aunts, Jean Fisher Allen of Gainesville, GA and Betty Fisher of St. Albans.

The family would like to thank the nurses, therapists, and physicians for their loving care of Connie during her illness. The family would like to especially thank Dr. George Zaldivar and his staff for the years of excellent medical care they provided to Connie.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, January 1, 2016 at Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Ellis Conley and the Rev. Don Gatewood officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park in Dunbar.

Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Forrest Burdette Building Fund, 2848 Putnam Ave, Hurricane, WV 25526.
