"Weary" A. Harrison

Corporal William "Weary" A. Harrison, 95, got his wings on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
He was born on November 20, 1929 in Raymond City, to the late Samuel Harrison and Edith Wright.
Weary was a quiet, kind hearted and loving man who never raised his voice. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War.
In his past he worked as a security guard at the WV State Capital, as an operator at Avtex in Nitro and at Diehl's Restaurant in Nitro.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, William "Billy Joe" Harrison.
Weary is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Dorthy Harrison; daughter, Virginia Harrison Griffith of Poca; grandchildren, Lieutenant Colonel William "Bill" Walker and wife Jessica of Mt. Airy, MD, Kristina Spradling of Belle, Jessica Rucker of Poca, April Rucker of Poca; nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; special niece, Suzi Willard; and a host of family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor David Keeney officiating. Burial will follow in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar.
Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
