Craig Bronson Giffin, age 41, of Charleston, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015.
Craig was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Carl and Cordelia Figgatt of Charleston and by paternal grandparents Earl and Verona Giffin of Johnstown, Pennsylvania and Uncle Wailand C. Figgatt.
Survivors include parents, Jay and Hilda Giffin, twin sister Kristi Giffin Eilerman and brother-in-law Todd Eilerman of Findlay, Ohio; nieces Kaitlynn and Kassandra Eilerman of Findlay, Ohio; aunts, an uncle and cousins.
Referred to as one of "the twins", Craig was valedictorian of Sissonville High School's Class of 1991 and an Eagle Scout. He originally worked as a lawyer and more recently was the Director of the Paralegal Studies Program at Bridge Valley Community and Technical College and enjoyed working in the education field. He became a member of Calvary Baptist Church at a young age and morerecently attended Bible Center Church.
Craig, always a man of action and involvement, filled his life with work, recreational and family. He was a wonderful man, a man of faith, and a positive influence on others. He will be remembered by his quick smile and laughter. He was always the playful instigator and checkers-challenging uncle to his two nieces. Craig had a lifetime of inquisitiveness and exploration. He had an appetite for learning through reading and travel with much of his leisure spent traveling world-wide and experiencing a variety of cultures.
Craig developed an interest in ballroom dance while attending WVU Law School, and was founder of WV Dance, Inc. which he continued for many years. He offered lessons on numerous cruises. Craig's lessons, in partnership with Julia McCormick reached far and wide in the regions of West Virginia and Virginia through classes offered at parks and resorts. Craig enjoyed introducing people to ballroom dance, encouraging them to excel. We will dearly miss you Craig. In our grief, we celebrate your life and bid our sad farewell. You are gone but not forgotten.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, May 15, 2015 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with the Rev. Archie Snedegar officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
