Crystal Short's Obituary
Crystal Parkins Short, 90, of Dunbar, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010 at Hubbard Hospice House after a short illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Albert J. Short and a son, Alan J. Short.
Crystal was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Lodge #133 in Dunbar and was a life long member of the First Baptist Church in Dunbar where she served as Church Clerk, Sunday School Teacher and Deaconess.
Surviving are her daughter, Joyce Ryan and her husband, David of St. Albans; a grandson, Matthew D. Ryan and his wife, Melissa of Bridgeville, Pa; a great granddaughter, Madeleinne Kate Ryan of Bridgeville; two nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 25, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Reverend Thomas E. Stevens, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be sent to First Baptist Church, 16th Street and Myers Avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064 or to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Drive, Charleston, WV 25311.
