Dallas Townsend, Sr., 80, of Dunbar went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at UPMC Pittsburg, PA after a sudden illness.

He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed. He was a retiree of General Motors, Parma, OH.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ethelyn Phelps Townsend; granddaughter, Jade Amber Townsend; parents, Berbin and Rosa Townsend; brothers, Lucien, Wilburn, Cebert, Winford, and Garland Townsend; and sisters, Flora Boytek, and Gertie Varney.

Dallas is survived by his wife, Lorraine Townsend; son, Dallas Townsend, Jr. (Karen); daughter, Donna Lee Blough (James); step-children, Terry Owens (Donna), and Kelly Corbridge (Kim); grandchildren, Dallas Townsend III (Megan), Wayne Townsend (Molly), Nicole Cook (Dan), Jennifer Gavazzi (Robert), Angel Paxton (Richard), Matthew Corbridge, and Nathaniel Corbridge (Emily); ten much loved great-grandchildren; brother, Bernard Townsend; and sisters, Dolly Sue Greathouse, Donna Tobia, and Ina Linville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 2 at Keller Funeral Home with Reverend Greg Hudson officiating and music by Jim Vance.

Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 1 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

An additional service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, August 3 at Murray Funeral Home, Creston, OH with Reverend Eugene Crouch officiating. Burial will follow at Burbank Cemetery, Burbank, OH. Friends and family may call one hour prior to service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dallas's name to Dunbar Church of the Nazarene, where he was a member, 1334 Lightner Ave., Dunbar, WV 25064.
