Danis Soylu, 87, of Dunbar, passed away June 4, 2019 at CAMC Memorial, after a short illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents who were from Ankara, Turkey.

Mr. Danny, as his students called him, came to America at 25 from Ankara. He spent his time here in the mental health and social work field. He was part of the Grandfather/Granny program at Dunbar Intermediate and Primary Schools, where he was so fond of all the children; and they were fond of him too.

He is survived by his sister, Senda from Ankara, Turkey; and several cousins from Istanbul, Turkey.

A private memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
