Obituary

Dannie Gene Conn, 66, of Dunbar passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011, at CAMC Memorial, in the presence of his loving family.

Dannie was a 1963 graduate of Sissonville High School and bravely served our country in the Army during Vietnam. He retired as a supervisor from the WV Department of Transportation, and following his retirement, worked in the same capacity for local contractors. His most recent employment was with Bilco Construction Company.

Dannie was an avid trout fisherman, spending considerable time with his family in his beloved Pocahontas County. He also was an avid bowler and was a member of the Goodfellows, and H.G. Sturm Classic Leagues, and also a youth instructor for 16 years at Dunbar Bowling Lanes. He also loved other sports, such as football, basketball and NASCAR.

Mr. Conn is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Cynthia Francisco Conn; son, Dannie L. Conn and his fiancé Nichelle Nicholls of Pittsburgh, PA; mother-in-law, Marguerite Francisco of Dunbar; sister, Margie Signorelli of Florida; brothers, Larry Conn of St. Albans, Roger Conn of Kentucky; and a host of special family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 17, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor David Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Bowen Cemetery, Tyler Mountain.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

The family expresses their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, nurses and other staff at CAMC, whom provided Dannie quality care with love during the past three months.
