Daphne L. Young Dean, 43, of Dunbar, died suddenly on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
She was born October 10, 1964 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was employed by the CAMC Credit Union for 26 years.
Daphne was a devout Christian and was a Sunday School teacher and treasurer at the West Dunbar Community Church. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Matt and Lilly Young, maternal grandparents, Harold and Bernadine Crank, uncle Donald Crank, father-in-law, Arley "Jack" Dean and by her niece, Marchel Guthrie.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 20 years, David W. Dean; son, Matthew David at home; parents, Rev. Doyle D. and Jane Young of Dunbar; sisters, Vicky and Paul Foster of St. Albans and Jessica and David Chandler of Dunbar; nephew, Noah Christopher Chandler of Dunbar; mother-in-law, Judy Dean of Charleston; sister-in-law, Judith Ann and Wayne Guthrie of Charleston and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 19, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. James Phillips and Rev. Allen Young officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.
