Obituary

Darlena "Dolly" Francisco Painter, 80 of Scott Depot, passed away August 23, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House West.

She was born October 16, 1934 on Tyler Mountain. Dolly attended Dunbar High School, was a 1952 graduate and was a member of the National Honor Society. She married Dana Carroll Painter on September 2, 1955 and they resided in Dunbar until they moved to Scott Depot in 1975.

Dolly was a member of McKinnon Presbyterian Church and was employed by Columbia Gas for 34 years.

Her beloved husband, Dana, died July 19, 1996. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Orion and Nellie Francisco; sisters Ellen Turley and her husband Raymond, Opal Tinsley and her husband John; brother Brady Francisco and his wife Marguerite; brothers-in-law Albert "Bill" Sherman and Monroe Randolph; grandmother Eliza Bowen; and a very special aunt, Lillie "Kid" Bowen.

Dolly is survived by her sisters, Mildred "Midge" Beaver, Betty Randolph; brothers Carl Francisco and his wife Helen, Robert "Bob" Francisco and his wife Betty, Wayne Francisco and his wife Leona; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She will also be missed by countless other relatives and friends.

She was blessed with many wonderful neighbors and friends at her Scott Depot home. Dolly wanted to express her heartfelt thanks and appreciation to her very special angel, Sara Gilkerson, who was a dear friend and neighbor, and went above and beyond the call of duty in providing assistance during her illness. Dolly had many good friends during her life because she was such a good friend.

Hubbard Hospice House West provided end of life services to Dolly. The family wishes to thank them for their kind and gentle care during her last days.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. David Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Keller Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made in memory of Dolly to McKinnon Presbyterian Church, 4278 West Washington St., Charleston, WV 25313.
