Darrold E. Jones, 60, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 12, 2008, at Hubbard Hospice House after a short illness.
He was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School in Charleston, WV, class of 1967. He worked several years for DOW BADISCHE/BASF Chemical Company, Williamsburg, VA. He retired as a Warehouse Manager from Clark Filter Systems with 17 years of service. He really liked his jobs and the many friends he made along the way in this life's journey.
Darrold was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, and great-uncle. He just recently became a Christian, loved his God, family and his many friends. He had had a zest for life, enjoyed the outdoors, camping and caving.
ALOHA until we meet again, not good-bye. He will be sadly missed by those he left behind, his wife of 38 years, Billie Jean Jones, sister Wanda Williams, brother, Richard Maxwell, brother-in-law Irving Ordonia of Hayes, VA, special sister-in-law Wanda Boettjer and husband, Byron Boettjer of Beech Island, SC. Also surviving are several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nephews and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lola and Albert Jones, sister, Helen Ordonia of VA, brother and special friend, Mike Maxwell.
A Tribute to the life of Darrold will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 17 at the Salvation Army Church, 301 Mary St., Charleston, WV, with the Major Bruce Williams officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either the Salvation Army Church, 301 Mary Street, Charleston, WV 25302 or to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Dr., Charleston, WV 25311.
