David Eugene Dean, Sr., 79, of Cross Lanes, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015.
He was born on September 17, 1936 to the late John S. and Mae Dean of Loudendale.
While growing up, David attended the Loudendale Church of the Nazarene. He attended Charleston High School before entering the U.S. Navy, where he served proudly aboard the U.S.S. Salute MSO470 and the U.S.S. Enterprise. David also was a serving member of the U.S. Army and Air Force Reserves (National Guard).
He worked at the L.O. F. Glass Plant in Manteca, Calif. and Anniston Army Depot in Anniston, Ala.
David enjoyed playing and singing gospel and bluegrass music, fishing, football, cars and being with family and friends. He was a beloved husband and father and will be missed.
David is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Priscilla; son, David, brother, Don of Rockingham, N.C.; and sister, Ruth Ann Breedlove of Tampa, Fla.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311.
Services will be at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with the Rev. Frank Goff and Pastor Bert Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery.
