David Wayne Harris, 60, was born on June 23, 1961, in Charleston, to the late Nora Mae Harris and Leroy Woods .

On September 10th, 2021, at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, the Lord called David home.

David graduated from Charleston High School and then joined the military. He enjoyed working as a custodian until he became ill.

He loved helping others and spending time with family and friends. David was a hard worker and amazing father to his three children. His smile and laugh will be missed by many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Nellie Woodson.

Left to cherish David's memories are his loving children, Jessica Smith of Charleston, Myesha Simley of Charleston, and Kobe Wright of Saint Alban; sisters, Stephanie Walker of North Carolina and Denise Harris of Charleston, brothers, Jeff Harris of Charleston, Lee Harris of South Charleston, and Ronald Harris of Charleston; grandchildren; aunts; uncles; and loving partner, April Tinsley; along with many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Monday, September 27, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Rev. Dr. Lloyd A. Hill officiating.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
