David Ray Hartwell's Obituary
David Ray Hartwell, of St. Albans, went to be with the Lord on a very special day, December 25, 2014.
He was born in Charleston on October 29, 1943 to the late Ray and Kathryn Hartwell.
David retired in 2012 as the Maintenance Manager for Hickory Mills Apartments, in Hurricane.
He loved spending time with family and friends. His children thought of him as a hero, mentor and best friend. He will be missed by all.
David is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Ellen Hartwell; sons, David Hartwell, Jr and Michael Hartwell, both of St Albans; loving daughter, Susan Burdette of St. Albans; brothers, Roger Hartwell of Illinois and Jackie Hartwell of Nitro; sisters, Charlotte Overbaugh of Nitro and Kathy Brown of South Charleston; 4 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, December 29, 2014 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Richard Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Schultz Cemetery.
Family and friends may call two hours prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation in David's memory to the American Liver Foundation, 39 Broadway Suite 2700, New York, NY 10006.
