David Joseph Koontz, 65, of Dunbar, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022 at his home.

He was a truck driver for Brewer and Company for the last 12 years where he traveled around West Virginia and surrounding states.

David had a love for classic cars and tinkering in his garage, with his most recent vehicle being a 1970 Plymouth Fury. When he wasn't tinkering, he spent a lot of time hiking with his children and reminiscing of the olden days.

He was preceded in death by his father, Francis M. Koontz, Sr.; mother, Audrey Nadine Koontz; and brothers, Frank (Nubby) Koontz, and Mike D. Koontz.

David is survived by his brother, Greg Koontz, of Tyler Mountain; son, Joseph Koontz, of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter, Samantha Koontz, of Dunbar; and extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews in West Virginia and South Carolina.

The family will receive visitors from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Wine Cellar Park, Dunbar, WV 25064, where we can visit Anderson Lake and remember who David was.
