David Larry Smith, 59, of Dunbar, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 25, 2014.
Born August 19, 1955, David was a lifelong resident of Dunbar. He served in the Navy after graduating from Dunbar High School in 1973. He was a passionate WVU football fan and loved pier fishing at Fernandina Beach, Florida. He had immense love for his family and for God.
David was saved at Dunbar Mountain Mission Church on February 9, 2014.
He is survived by his loving parents, Larry and JoAnne Smith of Dunbar; sister, Shari Roberts and her fiancé, Jeff Bayes of South Charleston; brother, Mark Smith and his wife, Angie of Pocatalico; special nieces, Mandi Roberts of South Charleston, and Shannon Frame and her husband Jeff, of Elkview; special nephew, Steven Smith of St. Albans; his beloved Aunt Carol and her husband, Gary Dye of Clendenin; and numerous other friends and relatives.
The family will like to extend a special thank you to his caregiver, Chris Cook.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 28 at 2 p.m. at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens in the West Virginia Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Ray Parsons officiating.
Family and friends may gather one hour prior to service at the cemetery.
