Obituary

Deborah Ann Petry, 62, of Scott Depot, entered into God's glory where she will forever praise and worship her King, after a mercifully brief illness.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Kenneth and Louise Steele.

Deborah is survived by her siblings, Kenneth and Della Steele of Hope Mills, N.C., Keith and Judy Steele of Sevierville, Tenn., Dot Sheely of Scott Depot, and Cam and Lori Steele of Concord, N.C.; and a large adoring family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She retired from AT&T as a long-distance operator after nearly thirty years of devoted service.

Deborah attended Maranatha Fellowship in St. Albans for several decades and has mostly recently been ministering in Revival Worship Center of Culloden. Her love of Jesus, people, and music led her to a life service and ministry in which her musical talents graced many churches, weddings, and funerals for over fifty years.

She was an excellent cook and catered many gatherings, parties, and events, as well as feeding incalculable families throughout her life. Her hostess skills were immeasurable and her grace in serving both the spiritual and physical hunger of people was boundless. Many holidays she provided Christmas for needy families both within the church and community. Her ability to show Jesus' love to others through her selfless giving and service was untouched. Her light-hearted wit, radiant smile, and joy-filled laughter had a way of shining the smiles of her Savior on all she encountered. She was a remarkable prayer warrior and had the gift of being able to make complex things seem simplistic by simply keeping Christ in the center.

You are invited to join her family in celebrating her life well-lived and her gracious passing into glory on July 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Revival Worship Center in Culloden.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 17 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that people give gifts to the mission ministry at Revival Worship Center, 93 Joy Lane, Culloden, WV 25510 or Sar Shalom Bible Center, 200 Morris Ct., Hurricane, WV 25526.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
