Debra Kay (Larch) Bands, 50, of Charleston, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016.
Born on April 17, 1965, Debbie was the loving daughter of Jerry Larch and Sandra Larch.
Debbie was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; mother in-law, Barbara Bands; and her loving nephew, Bryant Lawrence. Debbie was also preceded in death by her much-beloved "babies": dogs, Molson, Chloe, Abby and Sophie, and peace dove, Richard.
In addition to her parents, left to cherish Debbie's memory are her beloved husband, William Bands; her father- in-law, William Bands; her sisters, Sherry Neely(Matt), Kelly Anderson(Pete) and Bobbi Raines; sister in-law, Susan Brixius; 3 nieces; 3 nephews; 2 great nieces; one great nephew; her father's companion, Janet Haynes; and her beloved dog, Ellie.
Debbie was a friend to so many, and her kitchen door was always open to share one of her specially-prepared meals. Cooking and entertaining were among Debbie's greatest passions, and she was always happy to prepare food for family, friends, neighbors, and local shelters when needed…even when not. She was also passionate about gardening, and lived for the times when she could throw on a simple sundress and flip flops (which were often quickly kicked off) and work endlessly and tirelessly tending her beloved plants and flower beds. Debbie also loved music of all kinds, and was known to sing along and dance throughout the house for hours on end.
Debbie never met a stranger, and embraced everyone lucky enough to enter her orbit as if they were life-long friends. She had an awe-inspiring capacity to love, and a truly "ginormous", once-in-a-lifetime heart. She was beautiful, inside and out. Debbie was loved by so many, and she will be, beyond doubt, greatly missed. There is definitely one more star brightly illuminating the night sky.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with a graveside service following at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston with Pastor Andy Neely officiating.
In lieu of flowers or planters, it is requested that donations be made to
