Debra Rene Ramsey, 71, of South Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.

She was born on March 9, 1951 in Dunbar to the late Keith Buckalew and Hazel Young.

Debra was a lifelong resident of Dunbar. She graduated from Dunbar High School in 1969 and went to work for the West Virginia Department of Highways for many years.

She was a social butterfly. Debra loved the beach, shopping and taking care of others. The highlight of her life was being a mother and grandmother to her three children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A quote that describes her best is, "The heart I was born with was never really mine, it always belonged to someone else, especially my children" because her family was her whole world.

Debra is survived by her children, Rob Henry (Missy) of Scott Depot, Chad Ramsey (Cori) of Charlotte, NC, and Jessica Oden (Schaun) of South Charleston; sisters, Sandy Young (Greg) of Klamath Falls, OR, Karletta Hart (Charles) of Jennings, FL, Diana Griffen (David) of Louisville, KY, Kimberly Haskins (Jay) of Fort Myers, FL, and Kevina Carrillo of Cape Coral, FL.

A celebration of her life will be held on June 25, 2022.
