Obituary

Delbert Summers, 82, of Cross Lanes, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017.

Delbert lived most of his life in Cross Lanes with his wife, Betty, in the home he built in 1954. He also enjoyed several years in Phoenix, Az. however, always returned home to West Virginia. Delbert was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a truck driver by trade, working for Orders & Haynes Trucking.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Cecil Summers; children, David Ray and Charles Daniel Summers; and siblings, Carl Summers, Kenneth Summers, and Jane Morris.

Delbert is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Summers; daughter, Heidi Williams of Grayson, Ga.; grandchildren Nicole Williams of Grayson, Ga., Wayne Summers, Paul Summers, Sarah Summers, and Ernest Summers all of Winder, Ga.; and many great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Arnold; sister-in-law, Leota; daughters-in-law, Goldie and Ann; and other family and friends.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 19, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with the Rev. Pete Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
