Delmer E. Young, 91, passed away on February 25, 2021.

He was b orn on May 29, 1929, in Charleston, to the late Leonard and Carrie Young.

Delmer was an Army veteran. He was retired from JCPenney as a stockroom manager after 36 years and the Big Chimney Dairy Queen as the night manager after14 years. Delmer was a v olunteer for Kanawha Hospice Care and AARP. He received AARP's highest award for community service, the Andrus Award, in 2007 for volunteer work for eight different organizations, including the AARP Foundation's WV ElderWatch program. Delmer was a m ember of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in South Charleston.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 37 years, Charlotte Ann Young; his second wife of 18 years, Margaret I. Turley Young; brothers, Alton Young, Jr. and Noble Young; and sister, Bonnie Martin.

Delmer is s urvived by his daughters, Rosemary L. Young of Dunbar and Becky A. Young Selleseth of Cary, NC; son-in-law, Dean W. Selleseth; and grandson, Zander D. Young Selleseth.

A private service will be held for the family.
