Dempsey N. Wolfe, 87, of Vero Beach, Fla., passed away Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach after a sudden illness.
He was a retired employee with the US Postal Service with 25 years of service. Mr. Wolfe was a US Army veteran of WW II, having served in the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign. He was the recipient of four bronze battle stars. He was part of the greatest generation.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jane Ellen White.
Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Linda Wolfe; sons, Cliff Wolfe and his wife, Sandy of Vero Beach, Fla., and David Wolfe of Richmond, VA; brother, Kermit Wolfe of Leon, WV; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Roger Vannoy officiating. Burial will follow in Goshen Cemetery, Jackson County.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
