Dessie B. McCallum, 87, of Dunbar, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Thomas Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Dessie attended First Church United Methodist and had been employed by Sloans Department Store for many years. She was born in Mason County and lived most of her life in Dunbar. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" McCallum, Jr.
Dessie is survived by her sister, Janelee G. McCarty and her husband, Thomas; nieces and nephews, Larry Jividen and his wife, Viola, Janet Jividen Skees, Richard D. Jividen and his wife, Jodie, Paul G. Buckalew, Edison H. Parsons and his wife, Dinah, Judith E. Miller and her husband, Raymond, Diana Fulknier Painter and her husband, Kim, and Cathy Jividen Casto and her husband, Bryce.
She is also survived by Lee Painter, Taylor Painter and Zachary Casto and many other great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Dr. Okey B. Harless, Jr, and the Rev. John A. Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
