Dewayne Alfred
Means
January 9, 1963 – September 8, 2021
Dewayne Alfred Means, 58, of St. Albans, was called home after a short bout with COVID-19. He gained his wings on September 8, 2021.
He was known by those close to him as a "genius" for his ability to rebuild and fix things. He spent his spare time in his garage tinkering, fixing, or just plain lending his helping hand by making repairs for others.
Dewayne truly was an amazing friend to all who knew him. He would go above and beyond to lend a helping hand to anyone who would ask. Dewayne will be missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He touched so many hearts with his selfless deeds.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Gustie Means of South Charleston; and his nephew, Craig Allen Davis, 45, of St. Albans.
Dewayne is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Kathy Webb Means; daughters, Jenna Dare Copley of Pennsylvania and Ashley Nicole Dillon of St. Albans; grandkids, Alexis, Christian, Sophia, Jaxson and Lydia; brother, Charlie Means (Mary) of South Charleston; sisters, Freda Rucker of St. Albans, Debbie Bailey of South Charleston and Gina Gillispie (Kevin Burgess) of Fraziers Bottom; along with his nieces and nephews, Shannon, CJ, Farrah, Tony, Jay, Christie, Robbie and Wendy.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Charles Shelton officiating.
