Dolly Miller, 82, of Charleston, passed into the arms of Jesus September 10, 2008, at the Hubbard Hospice House, having been a Christian many years.
She was a long time resident of Carroll Terrace Apartments and most recently of Meadowbrook Acres Nursing Center.
She was born March 5, 1926, the daughter of the late Mayford and Ethel Smith Hicks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan "Dink" Miller, sisters, Faye Fields, Ruby Westfall and Garnet Fox and by her brothers, Bob Hicks and Doy "Speed" Hicks.
Surviving are her sons, Danny Pettit and his wife, Violet of Orgas, Daniel Lyons and his wife, Diana of Winchester, VA; daughters, Terry Wolfe and her husband Terry of Mineral Wells, Sandy Freeman and her husband, Joe of Belleville; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Also surviving are a very special niece, Jean Ann Schoolcraft and nephew, David Fields, both of Clendenin and a very dear friend and caregiver, Lydia Bowring of Charleston.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, September 14, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Dolly's nephew, Rev. Todd Westfall, officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
