Don O. Wheeler, Sr., 89, of Dunbar, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg.
He was a retired pipefitter with Union Carbide, but also worked on the railroad and in a foundry for many years. He was a US Army veteran of WW II.
Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lucy Jane Martin Wheeler; his step-mother, Alpha Call Wheeler; son, William Lee Wheeler; brothers, Albert Wheeler, Jr. and Onnie Franklin Wheeler; and step-brothers, Herman Call and Huell "Bill" Call.
Surviving are his loving wife, Beulah Elsie Wheeler; daughter, Patsy Garnes and her husband, Ronald, Jr. of Scott Depot; son, Don O. Wheeler, Jr. and his companion, of Ft. Pierce, Fla; daughter-in-law, Marcella Loudermilk of Franklin, NC; grandchildren, John J. Garnes, Jason Wheeler and Don Wheeler, III and his wife Kim; twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Mr. Wheeler is also survived by other loved ones, Sheila Wheeler, Stephanie Bird, Christina Layne and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, October 22, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with James Moss officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
