Donald Scott Bannister II, 35, of St. Albans, went home to be with Our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 8, 2016.
He was a member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 625.
Scott was in a drug rehab program; he had been battling drugs for several years, but the drugs finally overcame him.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Donnie Bannister of St. Albans; uncle, Gary Gray of Charleston; aunt, Traci McClung of St. Albans; and special friend, Sara Cooke of Cross Lanes.
Scott is survived by his son, Donald S. Bannister III "Trace" of Nitro; father, Donald S. Bannister of South Carolina; mother, Tammie Woodrum McClanahan (Danny) of Nitro; sister, Amanda Woodrum of Dunbar; aunt, Tami Kennedy of Dunbar; grandmothers, Linda Price of Dunbar and Joi Bannister of St. Albans; and a host of family and friends.
Services will be 11 a.m. on Monday, June 13, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with the Rev. Gary R. Price officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday June 12, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
