Donald Lee "Duck" Shaffer Sr., 83, of Sissonville, went home to be with the Lord, on Friday, January 19, 2024.

He was born on September 22, 1940, in Charleston, to the late Guy and Gladys Shaffer.

Don retired from the Volkswagen Stamping Plant after 16 years of service. He was the last survivor of his three siblings.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Shaffer; daughter, Carrie Haynes; son-in-law, Davie Haynes; and great-granddaughter, Kaylee Dawn Matlock.

Don is survived by his sons, Mike Bostic (Tanya) of Sissonville, Donald "Bub" Shaffer Jr. (Tania) of Sissonville; daughter, Regina Burdette (Auty) of Sissonville; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.

There will be no services scheduled and he will be cremated in honor of his wishes.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
