Donald Lee "Bub" Shaffer, Jr., 58, of Sissonville passed away at home on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 after a recent cancer diagnosis.

Bub was born on March 7, 1967 in Charleston, WV to the late Donald Sr. and Patricia Shaffer.

Bub lived in Sissonville his entire life and lived life to the fullest even through the pain of cancer.  He enjoyed the time he spent with his grandkids, and was proud to be called "Papa Bub".  Hanging out with his friends and family was his favorite pass time.

In addition to his parents, Bub was preceded in death by his sister, Carrie Haynes, and his brother-in-law, Davie Haynes.

He was loved and will be missed by many.  Bub is survived by his wife of 42 years, Tania Holley Shaffer; his children, John "lil Johnny" Shaffer, Holley Swiney (Anthony); five grandkids, Lilyana and Ava Shaffer, Alayna, Hunter, and Hendrix Swiney; siblings, Mike Bostic (Tanya) and Regina Burdette (Auty); as well as several nieces and nephews that he was very close with, and many close friends.

A small graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Shaffer Burdette Cemetery in Sissonville.
