Donna Jean Bruner, of Dunbar, passed away Monday, February 25, 2008, at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
Jean was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio. She moved with her family to Dunbar, WV, in 1945, where she attended and graduated from Dunbar High School. After graduation, she became employed as a clerk at Union Carbide where she worked for 38 years.
Jean enjoyed various artistic endeavors. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for friends and family and was an award winning artist, specializing in pastel portraits. She was known as an excellent cook. Jean and her mother were well known for the cakes her mother would bake and she would decorate. She also enjoyed making candies and other homemade treats for friends and family during the Christmas holidays.
Her giving and generous spirit will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are her brother, Richard "Dick" Bruner and his wife, JoAnne and their son, Todd; nieces, Trina Leone and her son, Benjamin; Louann Petts and her husband, David and 2 daughters, Ashleigh and Rachel and Jeanann Leone. Also surviving are Jean's special friend, Mike and faithful companion, Buster.
At Jean's request, the service to celebrate her life will be private.
